Musing of one thinking about how good the "Good 'Ol Days" really were.

It seems to me that that guy in North Korea who apparently wants to conquer the US could use a restraint of some kind like the one that happened the other day when his ICBM blew up.  Maybe he could communicate with Adolf Hitler somehow.

Musing of one in a reminisent mode.

Today I was thinking about when I met my wife to be. I took a friend of mine to pick up his girlfriend after a girl's club meeting and there I met Mary Kay. After we chatted awhile I asked if I could take her home and she said "No,  I just met you and I don't know anything about you." After some pleading and some references from others present, she finally agreed to let me take her home, but I had the last laugh. Six months later, we were married and we stayed married for just over 73 years. Those years included quite a few adventures, considerable amount of travel, and some hard work to get us out of what would now be called "poverty". She was an extremely talented person and I have examples of her artwork all around me.

Musing of one remembering when travel between San Diego and Mexico was a common thing.

I am reminded of the story about the Swedish exchange student in San Diego who accompanied his host to Tijuana to the Jai Alai games.  When they got ready to return he found he forgot his international student visa so he had no means of ID. His host devised a plan for him to tell the customs officer that he was born in Idaho. They rehearsed this plan intensively and headed for the U.S. The customs officer asked everyone in the car where he or she was born; when he came to the exchange student the student forgot his lines and said Odahi.  I don't know what happened after that.

Today it might create quite an international incident.
